Natural Fertility & Conception

Posted on February 28th, 2013 by | 20 views

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 7 million women in the United States alone have been labeled with an impaired ability to conceive a child, and of these women, over 2 million have been deemed infertile. (A couple is labeled as infertile after having unprotected sex for at least 12 consecutive months.)

These women and their partners need to know that there are options for greatly improving their chances at becoming pregnant and having a healthy baby, and that these options do not always involve taking mass doses of drugs or spending thousands of dollars. Not to say that modern medicine doesn’t have its place in the treatment of fertility issues; for some women, it is absolutely necessary. What needs to be pointed out, though, is that for many (if not most), fertility issues are better treated using natural and less costly therapies. On top of that, if a couple does decide to try a more modern procedure, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intra uterine insemination (IUI), doing so in combination with other alternative methods will greatly improve their chances of a successful conception and a healthy pregnancy.

A point to keep in mind when it comes to more natural or alternative treatments, whether they are focusing on getting pregnant, staying pregnant, having a healthy baby, or anything in general, is that these therapies focus on the overall health of the body. Modern medicine is great at treating a symptom or solving a single problem, but not so great at looking at the system as a whole and supporting the entire body and its innate ability to heal. When you consider that all systems work together as a whole, including body, mind and spirit, and the focus of treatment is put on general health and balance, individual symptoms will naturally resolve, and the body’s processes will return to normal.

Options for Conceiving Naturally

Acupuncture, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy, among many other options, are just a few of the natural therapies available that can increase a couples chances of conceiving and maintaining a healthy pregnancy. Read more articles and research in support of using these and other natural therapies to assist in the treatment of fertility issues.
