Premature Ovarian Failure-The Western Definition
Premature Ovarian Failure (POF), also referred to as Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI), and Premature Menopause, is defined as a decline and stop in the normal functioning of a woman’s ovaries before the age of 40. Signs and symptoms of POF may include irregular menses, amenorrhea (completely stopped periods), vaginal dryness, hot flashes, painful intercourse, and infertility. Approximately 1-4% (250,000) adult women under the age of 40 in the United States are diagnosed with POF.
Maca and Fertility
Submitted by Natural Baby Pros on Jan 14, 2010Many experts see the four months immediately preceding conception as a critical stage in the reproductive process. Factors such as nutritional, environmental, emotional and lifestyle issues are taken into consideration, with both partners equally involved in the preparations to provide their future child with every possible advantage.
You might ask why, when from time immemorial, babies have been coming into the world without too much trouble, preconception health care is now considered important. Take a moment to reflect on current statistics.
Are you using the right type of Maca?

The Importance of Chinese Medicine Before, During, and After Pregnancy
Submitted by Natural Baby Pros on Nov 08, 2009By Katie Mik MSTOM, L.Ac.
Chinese Medicine has been practiced for over 5,000 years. It is excellent in preventing disease and keeping the body functioning optimally.
One important time of life, when Chinese Medicine is very supportive, is during pregnancy. A licensed acupuncturist can treat a woman before, during and after pregnancy to offer; increased energy, immunity, and pain relief.
Before a woman becomes pregnant it is ideal for her to be extraordinarily healthy, and feeling prepared to take on the marathon of pregnancy. She needs to have the strength and energy required for the miracle of growing another life. Chinese Medicine is the pathway to attain this extraordinary health.
Natural Fertility: Boosting Fertility with Chinese Medicine
Submitted by Natural Baby Pros on Nov 08, 2009Infertility, or what I prefer to call sub-fertility (the inability to get pregnant after one year of unprotected sex), affects one in six couples in North America. The good news is that if you or your partner does not have a structural infertility problem, like blocked fallopian tubes, there is a lot you can do to improve your fertility naturally.
Endometriosis and Infertility
Submitted by Natural Baby Pros on Nov 08, 2009Endometriosis Definition: Patches of endometrial tissue that are normally found only in the uterine lining (endometrium) growing outside the uterus, usually in the abdominal cavity (ovaries, uterine ligaments, intestines, ureters, bladder, vagina, surgical scars) , although it may appear in other parts of the body (chest lining, brain). It quite commonly is attached to the outside of internal organs and most often adheres to the ovaries and uterine ligaments. This tissue still keeps the same traits it would have if it still were present inside the uterus; grows and builds mid cycle, and bleeds during menstruation. This causes pain of varying degrees in different women.
