About us

PUSH San Diego is a one-of-a-kind integrative natural wellness practice that specializes in infertility, prenatal, and postpartum care founded by Dr. Deb Davies in 2009. This traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture clinic is conveniently centered in San Diego near the Hillcrest, University Heights, and Mission Hills neighborhoods.

The team at PUSH San Diego has expertise in helping clients achieve balance and wellness throughout every stage of fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum care. They provide compassionate in-office care but can also travel to patients’ homes, birth centers, or hospital rooms when patients are in labor. The team regularly works with couples, including LGBTQIA+ folks, who are experiencing difficulty getting or staying pregnant.

PUSH San Diego offers a dynamic menu of services, including acupuncture, tui na massage, lactation support, pelvic steaming, cupping, and smokeless moxibustion, to name a few. We utilize EarSeeds® for fertility, pain, natural promotion of labor, and many other conditions. We sell New Mama EarsSeed kits that are great for the end of pregnancy and the postpartum period. Patients can also select from a variety of premium doTERRA® essential oils during their services. The practice sells several research-driven products, such as Conceivable customized supplements, Blue Poppy® Chinese herbs, and more. All products are designed to support a healthy body at any time in life, but especially surrounding pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum stage. Because PUSH San Diego offers so many unique modalities for normal to high-risk and complex pregnancies, patients often experience promising results, even if doctors told them they could never get pregnant.

PUSH San Diego is dedicated to giving patients hope through dedicated and personalized support. The team is available when patients need them most, even on nights and weekends.

Laidback Breastfeeding

Lactation / Postpartum support

A lactation consultation includes the observance of infant feeding at breast/chest and guidance given to improve comfort of the positioning to benefit the nursing parent and the infant, to improve latch and, therefore, milk transfer. The infant is often weighed before and after a feeding at the breast/chest to calculate how much milk has been transferred. A lactation consultation can address issues including: milk supply, breast pain and sore nipples, trouble latching, finding a comfortable nursing position, refusal to feed, poor infant weight gain, falling asleep at the breast/chest, problems pumping human milk, engorgement, clogged milk ducts, mastitis, infant oral restrictions, bottle feeding.

Some unique offerings as an integrative lactation consultant is infant acupressure instruction for parents for a number of issues from gassiness, to colds! Having added tools at our disposal such as acupuncture and herbal medicine to help with milk supply and other issues around lactation provide a perfect compliment to holistically support families to meet their infant feeding goals.

Pelvic Steaming

Pelvic steaming aka Yoni steaming or vaginal steaming is a relaxing session during which you will sit comfortably over a warm, specially tailored, therapeutic herbal tea or smoke allowing the steam, or smoke, to rise up and permeate the genitals and entire pelvic area. A specific steaming intake form is required to be able to tailor the herbs and treatment plan for the individual's constitution, imbalances and goal. Steaming is a gentle and effective modality to address many gynecological challenges such as painful periods, irregular cycles, infertility, postpartum recovery, infections and more.

Herbs

The unique ability of herbs to simultaneously treat root imbalances and strengthen the body makes them an easy natural choice to treat chronic and non-threatening conditions like migraines, PMS, menstrual imbalances, menopausal symptoms, hormonal imbalances and reproductive issues.  They can be used many different ways as in tinctures, teas, capsules, powders and topical.
