The inner part of the ear is inside a bone called the temporal bone.  This bones has a motion which rocks back and forth in a very tiny arc about every 10 to 14 seconds.  When it moves it pulls on the eustation tube which is attached to an inner part of the temporal bone and goes down into the throat.  This movement creates a suctioning effect within the middle ear that assists in moving fluid down the tube.   In an ear infection mucus builds up in the middle ear because it isn't draining properly.  The reason for this lack of drainage is most often because the temporal bone is not moving properly and the eustation tube is getting blocked.  Cranial Sacral treatment helps to get the temporal bone moving properly which allows the infected material to move down the eustation tube and gives relief from the infection.
