San Diego is home to the first of our Natural Baby Projects, which we soon plan on launching in cities all across the globe. These projects focus on bringing additional, personal support through local events and a network of providers and busineses who are invested in the health and betterment of their own communities. More than just a website, our local Natural Baby Projects take this work beyond the virtual realm to bring real, local connection to new parents and parents to be during this vital transformation into parenthood.

Diana Davidson - Songbirds Music
Diana Davidson, a life-long singer and dancer, holds a M.Ed. from the University of Virginia in Curriculum and Instructional Design and a B.A from the University of California, Los Angeles in World Arts and Cultures. For 10 years, Diana worked as a bilingual and Spanish Immersion elementary school teacher in San Diego, Salinas, CA and Arlington, VA. She has many years of experience working with children ages 0-10 in areas of art, music, fitness, dance, and Spanish. Diana successfully completed the Music Together® Teaching Workshop developed by the Center for Music and Young Children, Princeton, New Jersey in Alexandria, Virginia in 2007. She is the teaching director of Songbirds Music (established February 2008). She is also a member of the National Association of Education for Young Children and the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association. Diana is also the proud mom of two singing dancing daughters (ages 8 and 3). Ms. Diana feels so fortunate do what she loves, singing, dancing, learning, and making music together.

Wendi McKenna, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Pediatric Clinical Specialist, started teaching baby wellness classes in April 2011 in order to educate families about and how to resolve the unintended consequences of the “Back to Sleep” campaign and our pervasive “container culture.” The original goal of class was to provide practical solutions and hands-on guidance to improve happy tummy time play for babies starting at birth. From there, the curriculum grew and classes now include topics such as understanding and enhancing the foundations of movement; practicing different handling techniques for movement and positional transitions; improving bonding/attachment and communication; identifying red flags; and choosing the right equipment for your baby.
